Meet CORTIS, BigHit’s Newest K-pop Boy Group in 6 Years

Summer might be preparing for hibernation, but the music industry remains wide awake. BigHit Music has founded another talented boy group, CORTIS, six years after TXT and 12 years after legendary BTS.

Their name, originating from the phrase “color outside the lines,” is a direct insight into their creative approach, which guides their music, choreography, and videography. The group consists of five key members: Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, who each bring their own unique style and background to create a one-of-a-kind squad.

Martin has experience producing music for other HYBE artists and James has helped craft signature choreography for them. Juhoon was previously a youth model and Seonghyeon has a background in lyricism and identity development, with former swimmer Keonho falling somewhere in between. Although Seonghyeon and Keonho's backgrounds are less public, their talent as artists and as on-stage performers is prominent and unmistakable.

Since their August 2025 debut, CORTIS has effortlessly become a global sensation. Their rise is fueled by their talent, of course, but their captivating and genuinely carefree social media presence make them feel like a breath of fresh air, a vibe that perfectly matches their bright and laid back music. Their title track, What You Want, blends 60s psychedelic rock riffs with heavy hip-hop rhythms, creating a sound that diverges from typical K-pop. On the other hand, their song, GO!, leans more mainstream and poppy, the song instantly becoming a trendy TikTok dance, enticing people all around the world to participate.

The huge musical range of What You Want and GO! doesn’t even scratch the surface of the group's artistic depth. Their COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES EP, which dropped September 8th, is a cohesive yet contrasting collection of six tracks. The sleek and amped FaSHioN is taking center stage in their promotions, but a case can be made for JoyRide as being a hidden gem. The song is sonically captivating and immersive, eliciting feelings of a sun-drenched road trip in a cute convertible car, the wind mussing your hair and kissing your face almost perfectly.

As the group gains popularity and streams, CORTIS plans to continue its collaborative approach, hoping to one day follow the footsteps of TXT and BTS and become global stars. Their EP is a daydream you don't want to miss out on. Dive into the entire innovative collection on Spotify or all other streaming platforms.
