Alien Nation Station: More Than Just Music
Music has an impact that will only continue to grow, but the most fascinating part is that no one knows exactly where it’s headed. Still, some people love music in its entirety and are willing to drop everything and help it advance. One of those people is Aaron Mastuura, owner, artist, and producer behind the rising music production company, Alien Nation Station. Specializing in EDM, house, techno, rock and all its subcategories, Mastuura has a unique style that is versatile and bold. He draws inspiration from multiple artists including Metro Boomin, Nirvana, Timberland, Radiohead, Pharrell Williams, and, on occasion, Taylor Swift, amongst others.
Mastuura started learning about music from an early age, his music teacher father enrolling him in classical music lessons. At the time, he did not find any specific joy in it, so his love for music didn't develop until he reached high school. He gravitated towards the guitar and surrounded himself with those who had the same passion for music. However, that love was placed on hold as Mastuura went to college, eventually graduating Arizona State University with a degree in Marketing. Post-graduation, he spent six years as a successful salesman, but in January 2025, he quit his job and left corporate life behind. Mastuura began to pursue music full-time and launched Alien Nation Station.
In the studio, Mastuura produces his own music but also works closely with up-and-coming artists to help them find their sound and identity. When working with an artist, he likes to give them full creative freedom and supports them throughout the session to help create their vision for a song or self-image. When it comes to his own music, however, he says he works better with someone around, giving him the ability to bounce ideas off each other. The company is still developing, but music is not the only thing taking place. Mastuura’s corporate background has allowed him to mentor marketing and journalism interns, teaching them what he has learned and giving them the resumé experience they need to advance their careers. He plans to continue expanding and evolving the company with new projects and collaborators.
Mastuura wants to build an empire. He wants a creative community with good people doing great work and even better music. He wants not only himself to succeed, but those around him as well, and while the music industry’s future is not easy to pinpoint, Mastuura wants to catch that wave before anyone else. He's not in it for the money. He wants to enjoy what he does, and while at times money is the cornerstone, he has to earn it, reminding himself that, “If you don’t have it, it’s because you haven’t earned it yet.”
And to leave you all with a little humor Mastuura admits that: “One time an artist farted during a take. It made it into the final mix. Still haven’t told them.”
