The Double Life of Abbriella Farrah
Stepping into the modeling industry can seem like an overwhelming journey filled with strict beauty standards and relentless rejections, but for Abbriella Farrah, it has become a journey of self-discovery.
Farrah is a proud social worker and art therapist, but she started her modeling career just a year ago after some encouragement from her photographer friends. Since then, she’s built her community through social media and by going to networking events and casting calls. She uses Instagram as a tool to shape her aesthetic, market her brand, and share glimpses of her life, all accompanied by short and sweet captions that hint at her cuddly yet focused personality. Her dedication has paid off, Farrah recently signing with Phoenix-based talent agency, Admire Management, her face now pouting artfully on the agency’s main Instagram grid.
In an industry that’s teeming with creatives, aspiring models, and established professionals, it can get discouraging to continue in the face of rejection. Farrah believes that staying consistent with your work and holding onto the spark of passion are perhaps the most important lessons learned while on her journey.
“You have to show up for yourself, when you're failing and when you're winning,” she says. “If you're passionate about the process, you'll be more satisfied with the outcome.”
Farrah’s story sheds a positive light on an industry that is so often ridiculed for its abuse and toxicity. Modeling has become a source of deep contentment and happiness for her, the love of her community blending with her fulfillment to create a post-event euphoria that’s become her favorite part of it all. Taking off a face full of makeup after a long day is the cherry on top, and nothing can beat it.
“I feel so gratified, I feel so happy with what I do. I have yet to have an event that I didn't feel content with afterwards,”, she says. “Even if I do fail, I [still] have fun.”
Farrah’s transition from social worker to model and influencer was very unnatural, but has ultimately led to a deeper understanding of herself and her diverse identity.
“I was able to better understand myself as a unique person,” she says. “I understood that I can be both.”
The past year has taught Farrah that she can truly can do it all. Making time for both sides of her life has been a big yet beautiful change. As she moves forward in both of her successful careers, Farrah shows that true beauty shines the brightest when it's built on perseverance, passion, and purpose.
